Upcoming new Blue Laser


We're working on the first laser variant, the Blue Laser. You can charge it and shoot it as an uninterrupted shot for the amount of time you charged it, maxing at 2 seconds. It consumes a lot of ammo, but it can be devastating!

 The idea is to serve as an AoE weapon: you turn your laser on for X amount of time (maxing at 2 seconds). To counter the “easiness” of destroying everything, we made it consume a lot of ammo.

 The other counterpoint will be the “accuracy” stats at the end of each level. Accuracy will be calculated dividing “ammo unit spent” by “enemies killed”, meaning you need to use 1 ammo for each enemy if you want 100% accuracy. Of course, the Blue Laser drops it dramatically, since it spends 1 ammo unit every 0.042 seconds.

 Accuracy will be an element of the story. The government demands 100% accuracy of its agents: at the end of each level the player will be ranked according to his accuracy percentage. The idea is to make the player feel uneasy to spend too much ammo, thus trying to kill everything with only one shot and avoiding using the Blue Laser. Also, higher accuracy should give the player some reward at the end of each level (we don’t know yet what exactly).
